Debasement on Display: Markets Cheer While Your Dollar Dies

The Debasement Trade: A Warning From the Markets

The first thing Lynette Zang wants to make clear is this: the markets are telling us everything we need to know. The headlines say it all—“The Debasement Trade Gains Momentum.”

This isn’t just another market trend. It’s a massive signal that we are nearing the end of the global fiat monetary system. The so-called “debasement trade” is nothing more than the devaluation of all currencies a deliberate and systemic erosion of what people work for and use to exchange value.

And while Wall Street celebrates, Main Street pays the price.

What Is the Debasement Trade?

The “debasement trade” is the game of devaluing currencies to inflate markets. Central banks and institutions frame it as economic growth, but in truth, it’s a direct assault on the purchasing power of everyday people.

It’s the debasement of our labor, the theft of our time, and the destruction of our savings. When your money buys less, you are forced to work more just to stay even. This is not a coincidence it’s by design.

As Lynette explains, this is the system’s way of managing debt and keeping power centralized. But it’s not sustainable, and the cracks are showing.

Fiat vs. Sound Money

When comparing the spot gold chart (in red) and the U.S. dollar (in blue), one truth becomes obvious: both are money, but only one holds real value.

  • Fiat money (the dollar) can be printed at will and debased indefinitely.
  • Sound money (gold and silver) cannot be manipulated. It forces fiscal responsibility.

Sound money ensures accountability in government spending something long lost in today’s financial system. As Lynette points out, when our leaders debase the currency, they are spending our tax dollars, our labor, and the labor of our children’s future.

Gold and Silver: The True Measure of Value

Gold has broken out in recent charts, showing strength even as fiat currencies weaken. Technically, it may appear overbought, but Lynette warns not to wait for the perfect entry point.

When pullbacks come, they are normal technical corrections, not signs of weakness. The long-term trend remains clear: as currencies lose value, gold and silver rise.

Even at $4,000 an ounce, gold remains severely undervalued, because it reflects not the price of gold going up but the purchasing power of the dollar going down.

Silver tells a similar story. Chart patterns show the conclusion of a double cup formation, signaling a potential powerful rally once silver breaks above $50 an ounce. Historically, such technical breakouts trigger accelerated gains, and the setup looks stronger than ever.

Over the last 200 days, sound money assets gold and silver have outperformed stocks and Bitcoin. This isn’t about speculation; it’s about preservation.

The Melt-Up Before the Collapse

Lynette calls this the “melt-up stage.” Markets appear to soar, but it’s an illusion. Prices rise not because assets are becoming more valuable, but because currencies are being rapidly debased.

Just look at Zimbabwe’s $10 trillion note once printed as “money,” now worthless. The same dynamic is playing out globally. The dollar, euro, yen, and other major currencies are on the same trajectory.

This is why sound money strategies anchored in physical gold and silver are more critical than ever.

Currency Devaluation Is Not Growth

The mainstream narrative praises the debasement trade as “stimulative,” but the truth is stark:

“It is not these markets going up. It’s the currencies going down.”

That’s not growth it’s confiscation of wealth through inflation. When central banks call for “more inflation,” they are openly declaring that your savings will buy less tomorrow than they do today.

This is why you must act now, not later.

Reclaiming Representation

As Lynette reminds us, since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, we haven’t lived in a true democracy. Corporate debt became “money,” and now we’re working for a system built on debt upon debt.

True representation begins when individuals can vote with their wealth by removing it from the fiat system.

She argues that if everything is going digital, then why not digitize the voting system itself to ensure transparency, instead of digitizing only our money for surveillance?

Education Is the Path Forward

At the recent Nomad Capitalist event, Lynette met people from around the world many unfamiliar with her work and helped them see the truth through charts, history, and evidence.

Her message resonated because the evidence is undeniable: the system is collapsing, and the only way forward is through education and sound money strategies.

“How many times can you be lied to when you do not know the truth? Every single time.”

Education empowers action. Action preserves freedom.
