Michigan
In Michigan, most sales of investment-grade gold, silver, and platinum bullion, as well as numismatic coins, are exempt from the 6% state sales and use tax. This exemption applies to bullion with at least 90% purity and to coins (U.S. or foreign) with a fair market value greater than their face value.
