The Trade War Escalates: What You Need To Know

The trade war is no longer a distant concern. It is happening now. In this video, Lynette Zang breaks down the escalating tariff conflict between the United States and key global partners including China, Canada, Mexico, and the European Union. As these economic battles unfold, the real damage is being felt in the most essential areas of life: food, energy, and trust in the financial system.

The Real Cost of Tariffs: Farmers and Consumers Squeezed

On April 2, new tariffs on imported food products are set to take effect. President Trump has called on U.S. farmers to prepare for more domestic sales. However, as Lynette emphasizes, the reality is more painful and far-reaching. Many American farmers rely on exports, and now face retaliation from global markets.

Key risks include:

  • Loss of export markets for U.S. agriculture
  • Artificially low prices driven by trading markets instead of supply and demand
  • Financial pressure pushing more family farms toward bankruptcy

Lynette makes it clear that the everyday public will feel the brunt of this pain. Wealthy elites can cushion the impact with fiat currency, but ordinary Americans must turn to tangible assets like physical gold and silver. These are the tools that protect against inflation and financial chaos.

Food Security Is Urgent

Food is non-negotiable. Without it, nothing else matters. Lynette repeats her mantra: food, water, energy, security, barterability, wealth preservation, community, and shelter. These are the essentials of life. If you have not yet created your own food security, now is the time.

Becoming an urban farmer or growing even a portion of your own food is not just wise. It is essential. This tariff situation should be a final wake-up call for those still dependent on unstable supply chains.

The Global Supply Chain Is Cracking

The tariffs extend far beyond agriculture. They affect:

  • Steel and aluminum imports beginning April 12
  • All imports from the European Union with a 25 percent tariff
  • Major exports including cars, pharmaceuticals, and microchips

These changes could lead to a 70 percent drop in EU exports to the United States. Lynette warns that because our global economy is deeply interconnected, everyone will be affected. Even a basic car repair could become more expensive, since parts come from foreign suppliers. This is not theoretical. It is already happening.

Confidence Collapse Could Trigger Hyperinflation

Confidence is the last element holding the financial system together. As Lynette points out, we are already entering a period of rising inflation. If public trust breaks down, the result could be full-scale hyperinflation.

Retaliatory tariffs from China are targeting U.S. agriculture directly. Meanwhile, President Trump's aggressive actions are increasing the risk of a backlash from both domestic and global players. The longer this continues, the more likely it is that we will see a crisis of confidence that accelerates economic collapse.

Lynette believes the first term of the Trump presidency was about setting up a controlled transition. This second term feels different. It is more chaotic, more aggressive, and more likely to produce unintended consequences. A Black Swan event could ignite a chain reaction.

Tariffs on Oil Threaten U.S. Energy Security

President Trump’s hard stance on Venezuela, along with proposed tariffs on Canadian and Mexican oil, puts about 80 percent of imported U.S. crude at risk. Domestic refineries still rely on imported steel and infrastructure to function. Cutting off those resources could drive up energy costs and weaken national stability.

Why Digital Currency Is Not Enough

Many people believe cryptocurrency is the solution. Lynette disagrees. While digital assets may play a role in the new financial system, they lack one critical quality: history. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum have not stood the test of time and do not offer true convertibility.

When Trump announced a potential Bitcoin reserve, prices of digital coins like Solana, Cardano, and XRP spiked dramatically. But Lynette warns this is pure speculation. A real monetary system must be based on something that has value everywhere and in all conditions. That is gold and silver.

She advocates for a system with at least 40 percent backing in physical gold. More importantly, she wants convertibility. If the public does not trust the system, people should be able to withdraw physical gold from it. That is how you force fiscal responsibility. That is how you give people power.

Cryptocurrencies cannot offer that level of protection. They are intangible. Gold and silver are your defense.

Build Resilience Locally and Globally

Lynette ends with a powerful reminder. The foundation of resilience is local. Secure your food, water, energy, and shelter. Build strong community networks and create barterable wealth through physical assets. At the same time, we must act globally by demanding a sound monetary system backed by real value.

This is a critical moment in history. The trade war is exposing just how fragile our global system truly is. If we do not take steps to protect our personal and collective wealth, we risk being swept away by the storm.

The time to act is now. Tariffs are rising. Confidence is crumbling. Inflation is accelerating. Protect your wealth and secure your future with proven sound money strategies.
