$10 Common Date Gold Coins

U.S. $10 “Eagle” gold coins were minted in two iconic designs: the Liberty Head (Coronet) series from 1838-1907 and the Indian Head series from 1907–1933. The Liberty Head eagle, engraved by Christian Gobrecht, added the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” in 1866, creating the popular “No Motto” and “With Motto” subtypes. The Indian Head eagle, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and executed by Bela Lyon Pratt, is famous for its incuse (sunken) design, a standout in U.S. coinage. Common-date examples are widely collected because many survived in overseas bank hoards, offering genuine U.S. history with strong market liquidity.
